Meet Barefoot Asa
I grew up in a small town called Burrville, Utah. Ever since I could pedal a bike, I would ride down to the fields and play for hours at a time. When I was big enough to steer the tractor, my dad would set me loose plowing, baling, or leveling. I loved being out on the farm, smelling the sweet soil, and working with my hands. Those early days sparked a lifelong love for the land.
As I grew older, I realized that many traditional farming practices were causing soil degradation. My curiosity and love for science led me to pursue a degree in biology and chemistry, followed by an EMBA. With this knowledge, I started a fertilization business with the vision of creating a healthier, greener, and more beautiful earth.
It didn't take long for me to realize that the products my business was selling were like medications – they were masking the symptoms of greater problems rather than addressing the root causes. This realization sparked a series of questions: Why was everyone using salts and chemicals on their crops? How did the earth naturally sustain healthy plants without human intervention?
I decided to investigate how nature managed to keep everything green and thriving, particularly in the mountains where lush landscapes existed with minimal human interference. I quickly realized that nature had its own processes for distributing nutrients and maintaining healthy ecosystems. Inspired by these natural processes, I began studying and developing practices that replicated them.
Through my research, I discovered that many of the health issues we face as humans are directly linked to soil health. This insight drove me to refine my business practices and focus on sustainable, natural methods of soil rejuvenation. By promoting soil health, we can create healthier crops, healthier food, and ultimately, healthier people.
My journey from Burrville to becoming an advocate for sustainable agriculture has been filled with discovery, learning, and a deep connection to the earth. I invite you to join me on this journey. My online course is designed to share the knowledge and practices I've developed, helping you to nurture your soil, grow healthier crops, and contribute to a more sustainable world.
